How Does Mobile Warming Technology Work?

A lightweight, rechargeable lithium-ion battery powers the whole system from a low-profile pocket, and the heat kicks in within minutes of turning it on.

You can choose from four heat settings, ranging from about 90°F on low to 135°F on high, and adjust based on conditions and activity level. On the lowest setting, most jackets and vests run 8 to 10 hours on a single charge. If your piece is Bluetooth-enabled, you can control everything through the free MW Connect app on your phone or smartwatch, including battery level and heat zone settings, without even reaching for the garment.

What Should I Know About Battery-Heated Clothing Safety?

Mobile Warming gear is designed to be comfortable and safe for regular use. Fieldsheer recommends wearing a base layer between the heated garment and your skin to prevent irritation during extended wear. The gear is also not recommended for pregnant women, people with known heart conditions, or unattended children. When it comes to care, always remove the battery before washing. Most pieces are machine washable on a delicate cycle, but check the care tag on your specific garment to be sure. For storage, remove the battery and hang the garment, rather than folding it or stacking other items on top of it. Taking a few minutes to store it properly goes a long way toward keeping the heating elements in good shape season after season.

How Long Does the Rechargeable Battery Last?

Battery runtime depends on the heat setting and which garment you're using. On the lowest setting, most jackets and vests run 8-10 hours on a single charge. Crank it up to the highest setting, and you're looking at closer to 2-3 hours. Heated gloves and socks use smaller batteries, typically 3.7v to 5v, and generally run 6 to 10 hours on low.

Charging is simple. Most 7.4v batteries recharge fully in about 3 to 4 hours using a standard wall charger, so overnight charging before a cold day out works well. For long days in extreme cold, Fieldsheer sells spare batteries separately so you can swap to a fresh one on the go rather than waiting around for a recharge.
