How long will a heated mid layer run?
Our men's heated mid layer runs up to 9 hours on low, and about 2 to 3 hours on high. Tucked under a shell, it holds heat well and stretches a charge across the day. A spare battery is smart for long, cold days. The middle settings fall between those numbers, giving you room to fine-tune under a shell.
Can you control it from your phone?
A Bluetooth heated mid layer can be controlled straight from your phone. The free MW Connect app lets you set the heat from your phone or smartwatch without unzipping your shell. A button on the layer works too. The MW Connect app also lets you name the layer and check its battery, so you are never guessing how much heat is left.
Can you wear a heated mid layer on its own?
Yes, a heated mid layer works as a light outer layer in mild to moderate cold. When the wind picks up or the temperature drops, add a shell over the top for protection. Adjust the heat to match how active you are. On a cool, dry day it makes a great light jacket, and it tucks away under a shell when the weather turns.
